Virtual Heart-to-Hearts

Our Virtual Heart-to-Hearts program was created to help students take advantage of the knowledge, experience, and support of Northwestern’s global community of alumni. Virtual Heart-to-Hearts allow PT students to connect with PT alumni for 15-30 minute virtual chats about the profession, career decisions, work/life balance, and more. With more than 3,000 PTHMS graduates throughout the country and even more around the globe, PT students now have an easy way to ask questions, seek guidance, and learn from others who have been in their shoes.

How It Works

  • Students are encouraged to register and utilize this tremendous resource throughout their PT studies.

  • Alumni volunteers offer several topics they would be happy to discuss with students such as:
Career path; Choosing a specialty or practice area; Interview strategies; Post-graduate training; Knowledge about their local community; Other topics suggested by the alum.

  • Students search our VHTH database of alumni volunteers, and request informal conversations with alumni they would like to learn from.

  • Alumni and students identify a convenient time for their discussion, which can be held as a video conference on the VHTH website platform.
