설명:

Reporting, editing and anchoring - job skills are constantly adapting to the broadcast industry’s ever-changing technology, but some aspects hold true decade after decade: solid journalism and a passion for storytelling. Natalie Hurst, a news anchor in Boise, Idaho, will shed light on what you need to know before applying for a job in the news industry, what skills will keep you relevant in the newsroom, and how to stay ahead of the technology curve that keeps changing how newsrooms gather and deliver the news. She’ll also reveal the three common mistakes new journalists make on the job, and how you can avoid them.

Natalie Hurst anchors KBOI 2News at 4, 5:30, 9 and 10 p.m. She’s been part of the KBOI 2News team since September of 2005. Natalie is a 1991 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University with a double major in print journalism and French. She also earned her master's degree in broadcast journalism in 1999 from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. Between degrees, Natalie lived in Paris, France and studied French literature and traveled extensively through Europe. Natalie began her career at Eagle Newspapers in Syracuse, New York. She later worked for the PBS affiliate, WCNY-TV, in the Educational Services Department. Natalie has since worked on Capitol Hill for WDAY-TV in Fargo, North Dakota; then KNDO-TV in Yakima, Washington and WFRV-TV in Green Bay, Wisconsin. When Natalie is not reading the news in Boise, you'll find her skiing Bogus Basin, biking the Greenbelt, or kayaking on the Payette River.
